Circumcision with a novel disposable ring – Circumplast®. Does this new design prevent ring migration and glans penis incarceration?

AIM Circumcisions (n=124) were performed at a community clinic under local anaesthesia. We reviewed early post-operative complications and Circumplast® separation.

RESULTS Mean age of patients was 19 ± 3 months. One hundred twenty two patients (98%) had spontaneous ring separation. Circumplast was removed electively in a 2 year old as per parents’ request and 9 year old child due to delayed separation.

CONCLUSION Due to cylindrical design, the Circumplast® reduces the risk of migration/impaction of the ring to the shaft of the penis compared with Plastibell device.

Circumplast circumcision - first 1000 case has completed at our clinics at Luton, Bedfordshire, Croydon and Leyton, London

Our doctors has completed the experience of first 1000 cases of Circumplast at Luton, Croydan and Leyton, London. 

This is the largest series as far as we know.
